Easy Peasy Updo

updo

This is one of my absolute favorite things to do with my hair on days when I am feeling a bit more fancy.  It literally only takes seconds to do.

The Steps

1) Start with clean hair, you can leave it with your natural texture or blow-dry it so the final look is smooth.

(Optional- tease the hair at the crown of your head for added volume)

2) Gently pull back all of your hair (except for the pieces you would want to frame your face) as if you were going to put it in a ponytail at the back of your head.

3) Loosely twist that “ponytail” and wrap the twist lightly around its base.

4) Put in lots of pins to keep that thing from budging and to keep loose hairs from falling out.

The end result is a soft, chic sort of “thrown together” updo that looks fabulous with virtually any outfit.  I would wear my hair like this to the gym just because I could.

For a slightly altered version of that look, do a French goddess braid and work that into the slightly messy bun to keep your hair out of your face like Jessica Alba.
