How-to: Winged Liner

You have to agree with me when I say that a cat-eye is one of the easiest and fastest ways to instantly glam up and add drama to any look.  Something about it also tends to send a retro vibe, no?  There are a couple of tricks to achieving the perfect winged eyeliner.

For those who love to freehand things, try to aim for about 1:30 (view the face as a clock and go from there).  For those who don’t, theres a guideline you can follow to help.

The Steps

1) Pull out your favorite liquid liner and start applying it at the middle of your lashline.

2) Fully line your top lashes

3) Now time for the wing outline- take the liner and draw a line continuing your waterline, taking it to however long you want it to go out.  Once that is finished, it should end up looking like its at about 1:30.

4) Fill in the line to make it look like a point and be coherent with the existing liner on your eye.

All I can end up saying is that this particular look does take practice.  But if you mess up, take a cotton swab with a bit of makeup remover and start over.  To add an extra hint of glamour you can always pair it with a gorgeous red lip for an instant 30’s Hollywood glam.
