June 2015 Favorites

I’ve noticed a trend with my favorites this month. . .

Alright first things first, beauty.

NYX cosmetics lip creams: they are so beautifully pigmented with a smooth finish and an even better price tag.  I plan on doing a swatch of a majority of them soon.

Peter Thomas Roth Peel Gel: I’ve been dealing with a bit of texture on my cheeks lately (just little bumps that aren’t pimples just bumps) and talked to a skincare specialist about it.  She suggested an gentle enzymatic peel to help slough off dead cells.  This is one she showed me on the back of my hand and I was so impressed I knew I had to get it.  Exfoliation is a game changer my friends and this one is so gentle because its just a gel.  You can see little white balls of dead skin forming as you massage it on.

Clarisonic Mia 2: My go-to cleansing tool, especially in the summer months when I just feel gross and greasy all the time.  Use with my Philosophy Purity Made Simple cleanser and I’m in love.

NYX round case lipsticks in the color Eros:  This has been my favorite lipstick color for the past 4 years, which explains why I have three tubes of it.  Its a fun fire engine red that I wear when I’m feeling a little casual and flirty.  On days when I still want a lipcolor without the dedication to an actual lipstick, I just put on a bit of lip balm and dab this lipstick on top.  It creates a sort of tinted balm with buildable color.  Its so pigmented a little goes a long way and it lasts for several hours.

Lorac Tantilizer Matte Bronzer:  This has been my favorite daily bronzer as of lately.  I just sweep a bit on my cheeks when I don’t feel like wearing makeup and it gives me the perfect glow.  Like I spent the day at the pool instead of on my couch.  Its also good for a little contour when I want to dress up my makeup a bit more.

Urban Decay Illuminator:  I love sparkles!  Although this isn’t necessarily the best highlighter for my oily skin, I will never be able to get over our breakup.  It is so absolutely gorgeous and glittery that I will still be pulling it out some for parties and nights out.

Kat Von D Shade + Light Palette:  This palette is pretty killer if you want a dramatic contour.  The multiple shades of highlight and contour colors are perfect for any skintone.  Soft daily contour or strong, this will be one of your best friends.

Now the other favorites

Chambray shirt:  A wardrobe staple.  I throw it on with a cute skirt, a pair of shorts, even as a pool cover up once.  Its light enough to be worn during warmer months and a great transition piece in the fall.

Tan Wedges:  I would wear wedges all day every day if I could.  I love how wedges give you the height of heels but the comfort of a normal sandal.  I’ve worn mine many times to work this past month with a dress or pants and cute top.

Blueberries:  Easily one of my favorite fruits.  I’ve been putting blueberries on everything from smoothies to salads to oatmeal to just eating them alone frozen.  Its such a refreshing summer treat to sit outside and eat frozen blueberries.  They’re like little popsicles!
